CHANDIGARH: Manpreet Badal has done it again! After his media-advisor Arunjot Sodhi accused the former Finance Minister of Punjab of ‘ousting’ him from the Peoples Party of Punjab, his successor Bakhshinder Singh has also leveled the same allegations against Manpreet.
The revelation came through a wall post on social networking website Facebook wherein Bakhshinder Singh has alleged that he has been ousted from the PPP but the reason is known only to party chief Manpreet Badal. He has further alleged that Manpreet is neither attending his phone calls nor replying to his e-mails.
Continuing with his rants on the public forum, Bakshinder Singh has also requested media persons to find out the reason behind his ouster from the party and inform him in case they get any clues.
Manpreet Badal has been in the thick of controversies ever since he floated his own political party after falling apart from his uncle Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and cousin Deputy Chief Minister son Sukhbir Badal. Though he started out as an immensely popular leader, Manpreet gradually lost most of his senior party colleagues, who chose to desert him on the account of alleged highhandedness and political arrogance. Ironically, Manpreet came to be known as the leader of Peoples Party with no people.
Manpreet Badal had last year hit the headlines when he threw former press secretary Arunjot Sodhi out of the PPP. After being shown the door, Sodhi had publically questioned Manpreet’s ‘feudal’ style of functioning, evoking similar response from many within the political circles. Sodhi had also alleged that the PPP was a family affair and funds were being managed by Manpreet's family.
Manpreet, had, however, denied Sodhi's allegations.
