AMRITSAR: People’s Party of Punjab president Manpreet Singh Badal has said he is yet to decide on an alliance with the Congress for the Lok Sabha elections.

Talking to media persons in Amritsar, Manpreet said his focus right now was to strengthen the party at the grassroots level. For this, disclosed the PPP chief, he has laid out a 300-day programme for the party wherein he would hold meeting with people across the length and breadth of the state. Saturday’s Amritsar visit was the first of his schedule.

Coming down heavily on the Centre government’s Food Security Bill, he said: “It is shameful that even after six decades of Independence, the country needs an ordinance to ensure three square meals for its people.”

Hailing the results of the recently concluded Punjab Panchayat polls, Manpreet said people of the state have proved that they supported his agenda.
