RUPNAGAR: Union health minister Santosh Chaudhary has accused Punjab government of not using Central funds to the tune of Rs 400 crore provided under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
Chaudhary was at Congress vice-president Rana KP Singh’s residence here on Saturday.
She alleged that the Centre has been repeatedly asking Punjab government to use the funds on improving the health infrastructure and recruitment of medical staff.
She said union government was committed to provide assistance sought by the state government in improving health services in state.
A meeting of senior health officials of state has also been convened on July 17 in this regard.
Chaudhary also asked Punjab government to provide incentives and facilities to doctors to encourage them to work in rural health centres.
