LUDHIANA: Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Manish Tewari has called for early completion of the railway over-bridge at Lakkar-pull. Tewari also visited the spot to assess the progress on the work.
A number of people who met Mr Tewari urged him to take up the matter with the railway ministry since it had been lying incomplete for a long time now.
The Minister appreciated the concern of the people over the unusual delay in the completion of the railway-overbridge. HE asked the Divisional Railway Manager to submit the status report at the earliest.
The Lakkar-pull railway bridge is an important link connecting the old city with the new city. While earlier there was only a foot-bridge now a concrete railway overbridge is being constructed to facilitate both pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
Tewari assured that he will ensure that the work on the over-bridge is completed at the earliest and he will take up the matter with the railway minister.
