AMRITSAR: Punjab Youth Congress drive to register unemployed youth from state witnessed 500 youths turning up from 50 villages of Khemkaran assembly segment.

Youth Congress president Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary informed that the camp was organized at village Mehmoodpur.

“We intend to cover all the 117 assembly segments and register unemployed youths. Our motive is to fight for more than 40 lakh jobless youths of the state who have been allegedly cheated by the SAD-BJP government. The ruling alliance had promised to either give job or unemployment allowance of Rs 1000 in their poll manifesto,” he added.

Chaudhary claimed that the government has not provided job or allowance to even a single youth so far.

The leader also alleged that police was terrorizing Congress workers of the area and also creating obstacles on their way.

We have been informing the rural people benefits of Food Security Bill which would cover around 67% of the country’s population.

Others present on the occasion included former minister Gurchet Sinh Bhullar, District Congress Committee president Dr D Agnihotri etc.
