Friday : JALANDHAR: PPCC chief Partap Singh Bajwa today alleged that the stat government virtually headed by deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal gave nod to New Chandigarh Act only to pave way for the construction of junior Badals dream 22 acre seven star hotel project of the Oberoi Continental Hotel chain.
Interacting with the media persons here at the residence of former SAD MLA Jagbir Singh Brar who defected to Congress after severing political relations first with the SAD and later with the Peoples Party of Punjab, Bajwa said that Badals had ruined the state and are plundering the natural resources of the state.
He said that the SAD leadership duped the Punjab State Industrial development Corporation of thousands of crores of rupees on the pretext of providing loans to the industrialists whereas the loans were given to the henchmen of the SAD top leadership to invest in the real estate sector. The loans were provided in 2007 and till date not even a single person paid even a single installment to the PSIDC following which the interest accumulated on the loan amounts had been counted for Rs. 4200 crore. He alleged that with this money, lands and properties were purchased.
Bajwa demanded registration of cases against the defaulters for defrauding the PSIDC.
PPCC chief said that the party had filed two Public Interest Litigations against the Sangat Darshan Programmes and mortgaging PUDA Bhawan at Mohali to procure a sum of Rs. 500 crore to pay salaries and pensions to the employees and pensioners of the state government. He said that the government should avoid procuring unproductive loans by mortgaging government buildings.
He said that the party was proposing to file another PIL seeking action against the Hoshiarpur Deputy Commissioner and Tarn Taran SSP for issuing fake certificate to the daughter of SSP Rajjit Singh to help her get admission in the Baba Farid University of Medical Sciences at Faridkot.
Bajwa appealed to the Chief Justice of the Punjab and High Court to take suo moto notice on the on record statement of the Punjab Advocate General for lying in the court that the SAD MLA from Moga Joginder Pal Jain had resigned from the post of Chairman Punjab State Warehousing Corporation whereas Jain vehemently stated that he had not resigned from the post. Bajwa said that it was the matter of lying in the court to mislead the honourable Punjab& Haryana High Court for which the Chief Justice should take Suo Moto notice on the issue.
Bajwa held both the Senior and Junior Badal responsible for the fast deteriorating law and order situation of the state.
