SANGRUR: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will kick start the election campaign of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee for the 2014 Lok Sabha poll on October 10 when he visits Sangrur district.

Preparations are afoot for the success of the rally and Sangrur MP Vijay Inder Singla is looking after the preparations.

Punjab Pradesh Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa has called upon the party cadres in Punjab to unite and participate in the rally in large numbers.

Union Minister for Health and Family Planning Gulam Nabi Azad will also be in Sangrur district on October 10 as he will lay the foundation stone of the outreach of PGI Chandigarh at Bhabdan village. The Punjab Government has allocated 25 acres of land for this hospital which will have 300 beds for teaching purposes in the first phase.

According to Partap Singh Bajwa this will be ultimately a 500 bed hospital with an investment of Rs. 1000 crores. This will have super specialty arrangements for the treatment of cancer patients. Besides, the hospital will have super specialities in internal medicine and surgical treatments.

In a tug of war between the Punjab government and the Punjab congress chief, while the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister have claimed that Tata Group of Industries would make huge investment in Punjab and for development for the cities of the state, Partap Singh Bajwa has claimed that the father-son duo was misleading the people of the state. Tatas are not going to investment any money in the state, he said.

Bajwa said that the state government has not been able to notify the much publicized industrial policy what to talk of attracting the huge investment from abroad and other states. The much advertised projects by deputy chief minister are no paper only, he alleged.
