NEW DELHI: In a rare political review of the performance of the nine-year old UPA government, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has started a series of meetings on key ministries.
While the Congress is perceived to be focusing on social sector initiatives to retain power in the next general election, Gandhi’s meetings are focusing on core sectors like infrastructure, industry and manufacturing.
This series of meetings are held at Gandhi’s official residence at 12, Tughlaq Lane and some key lieutenants of the Congress deputy chief also participate during the deliberations. Party sources suggest these reviews are aimed to take stock of the pending task in each sector.
