AAP WILL USHER IN A NEW POLITICAL ERA OF ISSUE-BASED POLITICS, AWAY FROM PERSONALITY-CULT POLITICS SUKHPAL KHAIRA, Cong spokesman.
CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress spokesman Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Tuesday welcomed the emergence of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the fledgling outfit which was largely responsible for the Congress’ rout in the Delhi assembly polls. Not surprisingly, Khaira’s remarks didn’t please Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Partap Singh Bajwa, who told HT that he needed some time to react.
Sensing trouble within his party, Khaira was quick to clarify that he was speaking in his personal capacity. “The AAP would usher in a new political era of issue-based politics, away from the personality-cult politics being practised by traditional parties and exploited by the media for ratings,” Khaira said.
