Amritsar : Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa on Saturday accused Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal of abetting separatist forces and playing politics on memorials of killed terrorists.

He alleged that Badal was behind the construction of the Bluestar Memorial inside the Golden Temple complex.

In a statement issued here, Bajwa said that Badal had a legacy of telling lies and he had proved it once again by denying his involvement in the construction of the memorial.

He added that the SGPC president had clearly stated that the decision to construct the memorial was taken with the prior consent of Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

Bajwa said that the SGPC was an extended arm of SAD and Badal was using this platform to promote his political interests.

He alleged that Badal of late was playing the radical card once again.

He said the Congress party had time and again demanded to build a peace memorial for about 35,000 innocent Punjabis killed by terrorists.
