Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal told the party leaders not to use derogatory language against their opponents. Badal was speaking during a rally in Kharar where the Lok Sabha candidate Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra used some hard words against his rival candidate Ambika Soni.

Badal said that SAD leaders should avoid use of indecent language against their opponents as is not the culture of the party and SAD is known for development. He said that the Congress is a defeated force so the leaders should avoid the use of bad language and personal attacks on the rival candidates.

Badal was talking to the media on the sidelines of the rally after some media persons asked the veteran leader to comment on the language which the SAD candidate Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra used against his opponent Ambika Soni. Chandumjra said that “72 saal di budhi nu liya ke fasa ditta’ (a 72-year-old woman has been forced to contest elections).

Earlier addressing the rally, Badal said that the 10-year-long UPA government led by the Congress has been dotted by scams, misrule and weakening of country’s internal and external security. “The deteriorated governance could be retrieved only if Nerendra Modi is installed as Prime Minister,” Badal added. While eulogising Modi as ‘Vikas Purush’, Badal said he has a proven faculty of taking quick decisions and delivering good governance.

However, Badal said the SAD-BJP government has not lagged behind in putting Punjab on the track of fast growth.

Badal said that the response the NDA has been receiving now from the people is equal to what the Janata Party had got in 1977 and asserted Modi was getting momentous support throughout the country.

Recounting the story of “discrimination” meted out by the long rule of Congress at the Centre, Badal said Punjab’s share of river waters was forcibly handed over to other states and accorded tax concessions to the industry in neighbouring states leading to flight of industry from Punjab. Punjab succeeded in getting oil refinery and some other development projects in Kandi area granted only when non-Congress government was ruling New Delhi, Badal added.

Urging the people to vote and support Chandumajra, Badal said if the NDA comes at the Centre, Punjab would get extra help for fast industrialization of the state and getting the new projects granted from New Delhi.

Meanwhile, addressing an impressive rally at AC market in phase-11, Badal said that the Congress leaders are running away from contesting elections and the party high command is forcing the big leaders to contest the elections so that their performance could be gauged. “Look how Manish Tiwari denied contesting elections and then the party high command changed the candidature of some candidates, it clearly shows how the party is scared of contesting the elections,” said Badal.

Speaking to the gathering, Prof Chandumajra said there is a wave in favour of Modi and people of Punjab should take benefit of that by giving crushing defeat to the Congress. He assured the electorate all around development of the constituency if elected.
