Amritsar : Reacting to the Capt’s remarks, state BJP head, Kamal Sharma said that the Capt has been trying to shy away from the real issues the country is facing. Sharma said Capt has not uttered a single word on the legacy of inflation, corruption, unemployment, failures on internal and external security and mal-governance, left by the UPA govt during the last 10 years. “The life of common persons has become miserable due to the policies of the UPA government.
“The Capt has no moral authority to comment on Badal Sahib as Congress Party under the leadership of Captain has lost two consecutive terms to Akali-Dal Bjp Alliance which was led by leader like Parkash Singh Badal”, said Sharma.
He said that Arun Jaitley has led public life with a clean slate and with the highest moral standards in the last 40years, and the nation acknowledge it. He has chosen the right consistency to contest and the Holy city will bless Jaitley victory with huge margin. DP

Lashing out at the SAD-BJP combine and their Amritsar candidate Arun Jaitley for double-standards about various issues, former Chief Minister and Congress candidate Capt Amarinder Singh on Tuesday said that Arun Jaitley could not run with the hare and hunt with the hounds.
He said Jaitley needed to clarify and spell out his and his party’s stand on issues like Operation Bluestar and the Bluestar Memorial having been constructed within the precincts of the Darbar Sahib.
Capt Amarinder maintained that it was not just ironical but hypocritical on the part of Jaitley to oppose construction of the Bluestar Memorial on the one hand and enjoy the hospitality of the same people who got it constructed for narrow partisan reasons. “You can’t run with the hare and hunt with the hounds like Badal”, Capt Amarinder told Jaitley while commenting that it needed moral courage to call spade a spade and admit a wrong and apologise for it.
Referring to the Operation Bluestar, Capt Amarinder said that it was a great tragedy and wrong decision. He said, while he personally resisted and opposed it and resigned from the party and the parliament to protest against it at that time only, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and e Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh had apologised for the same later.
“But what about the BJP whose senior leaders like L K Advani have proudly claimed to have pressurised Indira Gandhi to send army into the Golden Temple?”, he pointed out, while asking, have they or Jaitley ever apologised or their stand still remained the same.
Besides, he added that even Badal’s role has by now been established beyond any doubt as how he advised the Government of India to send army to Golden Temple and later went into the hiding. “May be it was the same camaraderie between Advani and Badal that while the former openly sought military action in Golden Temple and the latter supported it during a secret meeting with then Union Home Minister PV Narsimha Rao and senior Central government functionaries in New Delhi on May 26, 1984 where he recommended military action in Darbar Sahib, which has been mentioned in the Government of India White Paper”, he remarked.
“By trying to evade such sensitive issues, Jaitley was only trying to reinforce the public belief that he was so desperate to get elected to Lok Sabha even if it meant to bury the very ideals he and his party otherwise claim to cherish”, he said.
“I understand your (Jaitley) majboori but what about your conscience, isn’t that pinching you?”
