LUDHIANA : Member of Parliament ( MP ) from Anandpur Sahib, and Congress candidate from Ludhiana Lok Sabha constituency, Ravneet Singh Bittu, received a warm welcome from the workers and leaders during meetings convened in Mullanpur Dakha and Jagraon here on Monday.
Bittu also inaugurated his election office at Mullanpur.
In addition to the youngsters who had come to listen to Bittu, a large number of die-hard supporters of late Punjab chief minister (CM) Beant Singh also attended the meetings.
Bittu, along with his family members, was welcomed with open arms.
The people of these areas assured him that they would make him the winner in the Lok Sabha elections with a huge margin.
While addressing the gatherings, Bittu said the condition of Punjab had worsened day by day in the reign of the SAD-BJP alliance.
“The industry of Ludhiana is in danger due to adverse policies of SAD-BJP alliance, while the condition is no better in rural areas where the youth is unemployed and are falling prey to drugs. The members of the alliance themselves indulge in drug peddling and ruining families,” added Bittu.
Bittu further pointed towards nonchalance of the SAD-BJP which did nothing for the uplift of the farmers.
Financial condition of farmers had been deteriorating, he said, adding that they were being forced to sell their fertile land.
Member of legislative assembly (MLA) Jasvir Singh Jassi Khangura also spoke at the function organised by Congress leader Telu Ram Bansal, and Major Singh Mullanpur.
Big supporters of Congress workers we represent at Jagraon, who extended full support to the Congress candidate. The function was organised by Darshan Singh Brar, former MLA, S Major Singh Bhaini, and Kaka Grewal.
Ravneet Bittu also went to pay obeisance at Nanaksar Gurdwara.
