Patiala : Former chief minister and Congress Working Committee member Capt Amarinder Singh on Sunday reiterated that two of the four Aam Aadmi Party MPs were involved with the Naxalism movement in 1960s. He challenged the party to deny that they were not involved in the movement which the state got rid of with lot of sacrifices.

The former chief minister said there was no question of his tendering any apology. He made it categorically clear that the Patiala MP Dr Dharamvir Shastri and Faridkot MP Prof Sadhu Singh and another leader Dr Balbir Singh, who is planning to contest from Patiala City vacated by Capt Amarinder Singh, after his election from the Amritsar parliamentary constituency, were involved with the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist), an ultra left extremist organisation. However, he clarified he had not said that Dr Daljeet Singh from Amritsar was a Naxalite.

He said he would soon be coming out with more details about the other Naxalites who have actively associated themselves with AAP as he was finding out details. He said these people were trying to exploit the alienation among the educated unemployed youth of the state in a dangerous way.
