MANSA: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Partap Singh Bajwa has said that the Punjab Congress will shortly launch an agitation against property tax, increasing menace of drugs, allegedly being smuggled into the state under political patronage of the ruling party leaders, and non-payment of dues under the shagun scheme and pensions.

Bajwa started his threeday thanksgiving tour of the Bathinda parliamentary constituency from Budhlada in Mansa district on Wednesday. Joint candidate of Congress-PPP and left parties for the parliamentary constituency Manpreet Singh Badal also accompanied Bajwa during his tour.

Manpreet had lost the seat to SAD’s Harsimrat Kaur Badal by a narrow margin of 20,000 votes.

Bajwa told party workers to start making preparations for the assembly byelection at Talwandi Sabo, which is part of the Bathinda parliamentary seat. He said the Congress would also highlight the issues concerning industry and sugarcane farmers during the agitation.
