Jalandhar : Highlighting illegal encroachment of Nagar Panchayat land, Punjab Congress spokesperson Sukhpal Khaira has written to Chief Secretary Punjab against Bholath MLA Bibi Jagir Kaur blaming her of continuously encroaching Rs 100 crore prime commercial Nagar Panchayat land at Begowal.

In his complaint to Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal, the congress spokesperson mentioned that Bibi was constructing a boundary wall on the panchayat land, despite cognisance taken by Punjab and Haryana High Court. Khaira said that a complaint in this regard was sent to Chief Secretary Punjab in the month of April but no action was taken. “As Bibi Jagir Kaur enjoyed political clout over the entire district administration of Kapurthala and the bureaucracy, nothing was done in this case,” he said.

He said that owing to slackness of the higher authorities, Bibi Jagir Kaur and others have again started constructing the boundary wall over the NAC land adjoining the Sant Prem Singh Khalsa School. “The construction work was going on in full swing despite my complaints to the Executive Officer, NAC Begowal. Bibi Jagir Kaur has already constructed more than 1 kilometer long and 6 feet high boundary wall on the east side of the NAC land and now she was constructing wall on the south-west side of the government land,” he added.
