Moga : To mark their protest against price rise and drug mafia in Punjab, the district Congress unit on Monday staged a protest in front of the district administrative complex.
Around 500 Congress workers participated in the protest.
The protest was led by unit president Darshan Singh Brar and they even submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Parmider Singh Gill.
Addressing the workers, the district president criticised the decision of the new government of raising the prices of basic commodities.
He said all promises made by Prime Minister Narender Modi have proved to be futile.
During the protest, the Congress workers shouted slogans against the Central and the state government.
The protesters demanded withdrawal of 14.5 per cent hike in rail fare.
