Ludhiana : Aam Aadmi Party leader H S Phoolka has criticised the budget and termed it as aimless, directionless and debt ridden.

He said that the revenue deficit has increased two and a half time. Last year, the estimated deficit in the budget was Rs 1,746 crore whereas, this year the estimated deficit is 4,250 crore. Last year, the actual deficit increased three folds to 5,259 crore and if this year also it is increased by the same proportion, then the deficit will go close to 13,000 crore, said the AAP leader.

The state is facing major problem of drug addiction and cancer and only Rs 109 crore has been allotted for this major problem, he said.

According to Phoolka, “The budget neither provide any relief to the farming community nor to industry. Both are reeling under pressure due to severe power crisis and lack of proper Infrastructure. Infrastructure needs special attention to promote industry in specific and economy in general.”

Phoolka said that as far as employment is concerned, nothing concrete plan has been provided as no ways and means have been mentioned to generate employment for youth. Moreover, the budget has no focus on food processing industry and diversification in agricultural industry, he alleged.
