Jakhar slams state govt over a letter of Central Rural Ministry

Ferozepur: While mentioning the letter of Ministry of Rural development, which was written by the secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development to chief Secretary of Punjab Sarvesh Kaushal for not complying the order related to the grant in aid under PMGSY, the leader of Opposition Sunil Jakhar on Sunday criticised the state government for misusing of the Central government funds.
He said that secretary of Ministry of Rural Development L C Goyal had written a letter on July 08, 2014 that State Government could comply with conditions of the Central government and also mentioned that state government could not transfer the funds under Pardhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) to Punjab Roads and Bridge development Board. The letter have also mentioned various amounts sanctioned by the central government.
He also blamed that the letter under NDA Government directing the state government have been exposed the sin of Akali government that how they were misusing the central government funds for their Sangat Darshan and on other programmes.
He slammed that it revealed state government was not serious about the rural development. He said that the conditions of the roads in rural Punjab were not good and new roads need to be built for the convenience of the villagers. He also mentioned that union minister of Rural development Jairam Ramesh during his punjab visit had sanctioned the 2000 kilometer network of new roads but SAD-BJP led government could not prepare the proposal for the same. He said that state government was used to say that congress led UPA government has been doing step mother behavior with the people of Punjab, now when their own coalition BJP led NDA government have been sending these kind of letter reveal that the state government has no funds to run the state and have been misusing and even diverting the funds of central government policies.
