Preneet gets overwhelming response during roadshow

Patiala :Congress candidate from Patiala (Urban) Preneet Kaur was accorded a red carpet welcome by the people as she marched through various parts of the city as part of her campaign for the August 21 by-elections.

At places like Ragho Majra, she had to wade through the stagnant water to cross the streets which were inundated by the recent rains. She condemned the Akali government for its failure to provide even basic amenities like drainage system in Patiala.

Accompanied by senior party leaders, including Laal Singh, O P Soni and others, Preneet Kaur went around different areas, including Ragho Majra, Karah Wala Chowk, Sabzi Mandi, Gurh Mandi, Pandyanwala Bazar, Qila Chowk, Sarafa Bazar, Khaddar Bazar and other places and talked to the people.

As she walked past different markets, she was stopped at several places where people offered her refreshments. At several places she was presented with bouquets and flowers. They assured her full support in the election. Expressing her gratitude to the people for such an overwhelming support, Preneet appealed to them to ensure that they come out to vote on August 21 in her favour. At various places people complained to her about the lack of civic amenities. She said that she has seen it for herself as she belonged to this place only and understood it like each one of them.

The former external affairs minister said that the Akalis had failed on all fronts. She pointed out that not a single section of the society was happy with them. Be it the government employees, teachers, traders, real estate dealers, colonisers, businessmen or industrialists nobody was happy with this government.
