Punjab to give 7% DA to govt. employees

CHANDIGARH: The committee of ministers constituted under the Health and Family Welfare Minister Brahma Mohindra held a meeting with the leaders of the Punjab State Ministerial Service Union at Punjab Bhawan Chandigarh. Committee agreed to give 7% DA from February 2019 onwards. However, the decision to give an airfare of dearness allowance will be decided by the government in the coming time. The government employees, who were recruited after 01-01-2004, have decided to constitute a committee to implement the old pension scheme.

The Committee of Ministers has asked the Principal Secretary Finance and Principal Secretary General Administration Committee to consider the matter of reducing the time of trial period. The final decision will be taken for this recommendation by the committee. The Committee of the Ministers informed the union leaders that the matter of regulating the services of contract employees is already under the consideration of the Committee of Managers and. On the issue of full pay during the trial period, the Committee of the Ministers will be considered later.

The Committee of Ministers has also given the assurance to the Union leaders; the committee would also conduct the next meeting soon. The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Manpreet Badal, Chief Secretary- Karan Avtar Singh, Principal Secretary & General Administration- Jagpal Singh, Secretary Personnel-AS. Majlani and Deputy Secretary Personnel- Harbans Singh.
