Ambika Soni to initiate developmental works on Tuesday at Khatkar Kalan

The Rajya Sabha MP and ex-Union Minister Ambika Soni would boost the flagship initiative of the Punjab government namely Mission Tandarust Punjab by distribution of material in the form of gym for youth besides initiating other necessary works worth Rs 5 crore aimed at development of villages as well as towns on March 5 at village Khatkar Kalan. This was disclosed here on Sunday in a press communique by state Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi.

Rana Sodhi further said that Soni would give the above said amount from her MPLAD fund for the purpose of establishing gym for youth, and installation of solar lights and CCCTV cameras in the villages and towns. Similarly, Ambika Soni would also distribute animal ambulances to the villages and towns. The beginning would be made from the ancestral village of the greatest youth icon Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh, Khatkar Kalan (Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar). The minister said that the real tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh would be to create a society as envisioned by the martyr.

The Sports Minister also elaborated that the Mission Tandarust Punjab was begun by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh in order to make Punjab green, prosperous, healthy and robust as well as pollution free. He also said that he is thankful to the Rajya Sabha MP Ambika Soni for deciding to undertake development centric works worth Rs 5 crore for the benefit of Punjab. The minister added that this step by Ambika Soni would take the Mission Tandarust Punjab up by several notches.
