Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu inaugurated the start of work of installing interlocking tiles and beautification of a park in Dugri area of the city on Tuesday. The interlocking tiles would be installed along the roads in Sukhmani Sahib Welfare Society in Dugri at the cost of Rs 89 lakh, while the Joginder Pal Pandey Park would be beautified at the cost of Rs 43 crore. Ludhiana Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, councillor Harkaran Singh Vaid, senior Akali leader Kamaljit Singh Karwal were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the area residents, Bittu said that the Capt Amarinder Singhled Punjab government is committed to carrying out the overall development of the state. He said that due to the poor policies of the previous Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party government in the state, the financial situation of the state was in a shambles. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh the state is finally moving in the right direction. He said that the Punjab government is committed to providing basic facilities to its residents.

Replying to a question about Ferozepur MP Sher Singh Ghubaya joining the Congress party, he said that ‘Taksali’ Akali leaders are resigning from the SAD. He said that day is not far when Shiromani Akali Dal would be reduced to merely Badal Dal, because the workers are feeling suffocated in the SAD and that is why they are resigning. He further said that at the Killi Chahlan Rally of Rahul Gandhi, thousands of Congress workers would be attending from Ludhiana district. He said the Congress would win 13 out of 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab.
