Decision on truck with AAP in five days: Brahmpura

MOHALI : Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali) president Ranjit Singh Brahmpura has said that a decision on joining hands with the the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for Lok Sabha polls in Punjab will be taken in the next five days. Brahmpura was in Mohali to induct former SAD leader Gursev Singh Harpalpur and his supporters into his party on Friday. Harpalpur was a member of the SAD working committee and senior vice-president of All-India Sikh Students Federation. SAD (Taksali) has parted ways with the Punjab Democratic Alliance (PDA) due to disagreement over seat sharing.

In Anandpur Sahib, AAP has announced Narinder Singh Shergill as its candidate, while SAD (Taksali) has named former Punjab deputy speaker Bir Devinder Singh.

As who would be the final candidate if the alliance came through, he said, “In any case, Bir Devinder will be the candidate. We are in touch with other leaders of SAD and they will also join us soon. n case there is not an alliance, we will go it alone but won’t contest on all seats.”
