ROPAR : Former union minister and Congress candidate from Anandpur Sahib parliamentary constituency Manish Tewari will start his campaign from April 15 after paying his obeisance at Takhat Keshgrah Sahab.
In a message to the people of Anandpur Sahab parliamentary constituency, he said that he was feeling blessed and privileged to have been provided a chance by the party to work and serve this constituency, which holds spiritual and historical importance not only for the people of Punjab, but for the entire nation.
While expressing his gratitude to the party leadership including Congress president Rahul Gandhi and the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for reposing faith and trust in him, he promised that he would come up to their expectations.
Tewari, who has over three decades of experience in parliamentary and public life, said that he had specially opted for this constituency as it was not just a political, but a spiritual journey for him. “I thank my party for granting me the wish to contest from here”, he said. “While today I have been deputed to this constituency as a Congress candidate, but my relationship with the holy soil of Anandpur Sahib dates back to my childhood days as it was mandatory for us to perform the pilgrimage at least once a year”, Tewari disclosed while referring to his and his family’s long and deep spiritual association with Anandpur Sahib, while adding, “…that is why I believe it to be like a holy pilgrimage for me destined by the Akal Purkh”.
