GURDASPUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s irresponsible statements against Pakistan may derail the Kartarpur Sahib corridor project, Punjab Congress president and Congress candidate from Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat, Sunil Jakhar, said at Dera Baba Nanak on Monday.
Jakhar, accompanied by Punjab minister for cooperation and jails and Dera Baba Nanak MLA Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, had gone to Dera Baba Nanak to inspect the ongoing works of Kartarpur Sahib corridor.
Jakhar alleged that Modi’s ‘childish’ utterances of nuclear weapons have damaged the image of India as a peace-loving country on the international platform.
Jakhar asserted that India needs a government that ensures safety of the country and keeps up harmonious relationships with other nations.
He opined that Modi government has chosen the path of aggravating tension with Pakistan for hiding its failures.
Punjab Congress president gave a call to the people to oust Modi government so that the corridor project could be completed without any hindrance and the situation between Indian and Pakistan could return to normalcy.
Meanwhile, Jakhar and Randhawa prayed at ‘Darshani Sthal’ here.
Randhawa said that just to remain in power Modi wanted to bring destruction to Punjab by creating war-like situation between India and Pakistan. Randhawa said that Modi has wasted his first five years of his tenure and now wants to retain power by foul means.
