Welcoming Bittu to the party fold, Amarinder said the Congress will gain far more strength in the Majha region, besides ensuing the victory of Khadoor Sahib Congress candidate from Jasbir Singh Dimpa.
Bittu had unsuccessfully contested Khadoor Sahib assembly bypoll as an independent candidate in 2016 after the Congress denied him ticket. The byelection was nessesitated by the resignation of Congress MLA Ramanjit Singh Sikki, following a series of incidents of desecration of the Guru Granth Sahib in Punjab.
Bittu said, “I was fed up with the policies of the AAP which is being controlled by a few leaders in Punjab. There is no scope for the workers in AAP.”
