GURDASPUR: Congress candidate from Gurdaspur seat – MP Sunil Jakhar – while addressing several election meetings in Gurdaspur assembly constituency on Sunday, said his chief agenda is the development of basic infrastructure and setting up of big and small industrial units in both Gurdaspur and Pathankot districts.

Launching an attack on his main rival Sunny Deol of BJPSAD alliance, Jakhar asserted that people do not want delivery of filmy dialogues, but real work, which can be delivered only by a seasoned politician like himself.

Pointing out that cine star Sunny Deol has no understanding of local issues, Jakhar said it is why, instead of sharing his agenda with the people, he is only focusing on roadshows in Gurdaspur.

Jakhar asserted he is seeking re-election from Gurdaspur on the basis of the work he has done in the past 16 months, besides sharing his priorities for his constituency for the next five years. He was elected Gurdaspur MP in the bypoll necessitated by the death of Gurdaspur’s four-time MP Vinod Khanna in 2017.

Jakhar reminded people about the restoration being carried out on 1,361km of roads in Gurdaspur constituency at a cost of ₹144 crore.
