RAHUL GANDHI TO HOLD RALLY AT BARGARI ON MAY 15

BATHINDA : With the Congress going all out against the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on sacrilege issue, party president Rahul Gandhi will address a rally at Bargari — the epicentre of protests —on May 15.

According to Congress leaders, the event is set to give a boost to the campaign of party’s candidate from Faridkot Lok Sabha segment Mohammad Sadique. Candidates from adjoining segments are also expected to join the rally. Congress MLA Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon said the rally would be held at the Bargari sports stadium. DC Kumar Saurabh said security arrangements are being put in place.The rally venue, as per Congress sources, has been chosen tactically as the party wants to put the Akalis on the backfoot over the sacrilege issue.

Protests had rocked Bargari, Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan after the sacrilege incidents in 2015.
