Abohar : Leader of the Opposition Sunil Jakhar today slammed the state government for failing to address the issues raised by the safai sewaks, who have been on a month-long strike across the state. He said it was a pity that in such conditions the Modi Government was celebrating its 100 days in power.

Jakhar said that successive Local Bodies Ministers Manoranjan Kalia and Madan Mohan Mittal of BJP had in 2007 and 2011 did not keep their promise of improving the service conditions for Sanitation Department employees in the municipal councils.

“The state government is fooling the people by promising to build smart cities, whereas they have failed to keep the existing cities clean,” he said.

Jakhar said that the fresh rain in the region had deteriorated the conditions in the city. The staff in the government and private hospitals had confirmed that diseases were spreading rapidly.
