The protest, led by Youth Congress' state general secretary Poonam Kangra, was held to mock at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's completion of 100 days in office.

The coupons had the photograph of Mahatma Gandhi, but carried the bank's name as "Manoranjan Bank of India". The original currency is issued by the Reserve Bank of India.
