Mohali/Chandigarh : On the directives of the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh Mohali Deputy Commissiner Girish Dyalan on Sunday ordered Additional Deputy Commissioner (D) to conduct a thorough enquiry into the reported death of 27 cattles in two dairy farms located in village Kandala.
Disclosing this here today, the spokesperson of the DC Office stated that ADC (D) Amardeep Singh Bains had been tasked to submit his report within three days after which due action would be initiated. Deputy Director Animal Husbandry SAS Nagar Dr. Nirmaljit Singh has also been asked to assist in the enquiry.
The proper care of the cattle is vital for their health, the DC said directing the authorities to further step up the surprise checking across the district villages and take all corrective action at the earliest.
The animal husbandry team from the district had started treatment the animals by the time administration has received information”, he said, adding that a team of doctors has been camping in the village, which was treating sick animals. Apart from this, the teams of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Ludhiana and the Regional Disease Diagnostic Laboratory North Zone have also arrived. He said that the food given to the animals was also being examined. He appealed to the people that the animals should be given their specific fodder only and if such a case comes to the fore, it should be brought to the notice of the administration immediately.
