Chandigarh : Former Punjab Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal has strongly criticised the decision of the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) to continue its alliance with Haryana’s main opposition Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and termed it as, ‘sailing in two boats at same time’.

In a statement issued here, on Thursday, Bhattal slammed SAD leadership for deciding to campaign in favour of INLD candidates during the forthcoming Haryana Assembly elections, citing their ‘old political and family tie-ups’.

“With SAD sharing power with BJP in Punjab and at Centre as well, its decision to ally with INLD exposes the dual face of its leadership,” she opined, while asking, “Where is the ideology and idealism of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal?”

“Badal can go to any extent for his political victory. The SAD-INLD alliance is just like a corporate tie-up with Chautala family,” added Bhattal.
