RUPNAGAR: District Congress committee, Rupnagar, has strongly condemned Anandpur Sahib member of Parliament Prem Singh Chandumajra for describing Congressmen as ‘wild animals’.

In a statement issued after a meeting of the party, committee president Harbhag Singh Saini, former Punjab youth Congress president Bhupesh Sharma, former all India Congress committee (AICC) member Ramesh Goyal, district Congress committee (SC department) chairman Tarsem Singh Gandhon, and district Congress spokesman Rajeshwar Lali stated Prem Singh Chandumajra had a habit of using unparliamentary language against his political opponents.

They said during last Lok Sabha elections also Chandumajra had described Congress candidate Ambika Soni as ‘Budhi Aurat’(old lady) and now he had again described Congressmen as wild animals during a function at Jhandian Kalan village in the presence of deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.

They said Chandumajra appeared to have lost his mental balance and resorted to unparliamentary language as Congress had filed a writ petition in Punjab and Haryana high court against his election.

Congress leaders said Chandumajra should concentrate on raising his voice about his constituency in the Parliament and should not stoop to low-level politics.
