Bathinda : Bhagwant Mann, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP from Sangrur, today demanded that the Election Commission of India (EC) serve notices to political parties for failing to keep the promises they made in their manifestos.
The MP said he would take up the matter with the EC and also raise it in the Winter Session of Parliament, scheduled to be held in November. He was in Bathinda to promote his Punjabi film.
He criticised the BJP’s ‘achhe din’ campaign during the Lok Sabha elections this year. Mann alleged the party fooled the voters in order to get votes. He said the BJP had “failed to keep its promise of bringing down inflation”.
The MP also accused SAD of working with the Congress to oust AAP from the state. “As part of this nexus, CM Parkash Singh Badal didn’t go to Patiala and Congress leader Amarinder Singh didn’t come to Talwandi Sabo to campaign for their respective candidates during the recent bypolls,” he said.
