ED raids Forex office of CPS Avinash Chander’s aide

(Phillaur) Jalandhar : After grilling Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS) and SAD legislator Avinash Chander from Phillaur, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday conducted a raid at Forex office of a right hand man of the CPS at Phillaur, leading to vital inputs of hawala transactions.
The ED officials conducted raid at Sachin Forex Private Limited owned by Chatinder Money Goyel popularly known as ‘Sita Arthiya’ in the local grain market. Goyel was running ‘Weston Union’ office in the local Grain Market in Phillaur. However, Goyel has managed to flee from his office and was still at large.
ED Assistant Director Manoj Sharma along with a battery of officials from his department and the local Phillaur police virtually lay seige to the house of Chatinder Goyel.
The raid started at around 4 pm and continued till late in the evening.
The ED had been investigating the Rs 6,000 crore drugs mafia case under which huge money transactions had come to fore with the names of SAD legislators Sarwan Singh Phillaur, his son Damanvir Singha and CPS Avinash Chander and even Congress MP from Jalandhar Chaudhary Santokh Singh.
It was learnt that the ED officials seized important documents of the Forex office and also raided the house of Goyel, which was also situated first floor above the shop. Sources maintained that the ED sleuths grilled the office staff and other close associates and even frisked many people during the investigation.
