Ludhiana : Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Partap Singh Bajwa on Sunday dared BJP to clear their stand on several issues, including drugs. He even asked the BJP leadership to seek resignation of Navjot Singh Sidhu before Chief Parliamentary Secretary Avinash Chander.
Bajwa is on three-day visit in Ludhiana to listen to the grievances of the leaders and to boost the party cadre for 2017 Vidhan Sabha elections.
Talking to the media, Bajwa dared the BJP to clear their stand on five issues of the state.
He asked the BJP to clear their stand over the exploitation of Punjabi farmers in Gujarat. He said in 1965 around 15,000 farmers from Punjab went to Gujarat for developing its agriculture section. Now, Modi is showing them way out. He asks Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to approach Modi and put strong representation in favour of the Punjabi farmers in Gujarat.
Commenting on the demand of the BJP for resignation of Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS) Avinash Chander for his alleged involvement in drug racket, Bajwa said that the BJP should first seek the resignation of Navjot Singh Sidhu who is never seen after election campaigning.
Bajwa asked Sidhu to come openly against the state government.
He dared the BJP to seek CBI inquiry into the drug racket of dismissed police official Jagdish Bhola.
He added that Modi should be reminded of drug racket which involved Jagdish Bhola.
Meanwhile, Bajwa also welcomed the statement of BJP president Kamal Sharma favouring the implementation of Rajeev-Longowal pact.
Addressing the huge gathering during the installation ceremony of Gurpreet Gogi as new district Congress president, he said Punjab was number one during the regime of Partap Singh Kairon.
