PATIALA: Chief of People’s Party of Punjab ( PPP) Manpreet Singh Badal said the alliance of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state will not sustain if the BJP performs well in the Delhi assembly polls likely in February.
Addressing party workers in Patiala, Manpreet said it seemed that the BJP had adopted the ‘wait and watch’ policy before taking the final decision to end the coalition. “BJP will see the results in Delhi and then focus on Punjab.”
Substantiating his argument, Manpreet said people of the state were fed up of the ruling government and the statements by BJP leaders in the media also proved that the alliance was not going to sustain for long. “If the BJP continues its alliance with the SAD till the assembly elections in Punjab in 2017, it will be difficult for them to prove their innocence as the BJP will be equally responsible for the sins committed by the SAD and the government.”
“I am not an astrologer but being a political worker, I believe that the BJP will definitely choose separate paths since public perception is not in favour of the government,” he said.
He also proposed an alliance with the Congress and other parties before MC elections, teraming it a golden opportunity for all parties to teach the government a lesson. He said he would initiate the process for a joint front.Regards
