Manpreet questions role of Harsimrat at Centre

CHANDIGARH: People’s Party of Punjab chief Manpreet Singh Badal on Saturday said the state seemed headed for early assembly polls going by the fact that chief minister Parkash Singh Badal had been “ditched” by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said as Harsimrat Kaur Badal, daughter-in-law of the CM, happened to be the minister in the Modi cabinet, the people of the state had the right to know as to what was her role in the context of the Centre’s rejecting every demand of the state.

WITHDRAW HER FROM CABINET: BAJWA

Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa has asked the CM to “withdraw” his daughter-in-law from the Modi’s cabinet in protest against ill-treatment to the state, which has been denied even a simple ` 2,330 crore assistance as drought relief.
