Cong leader Zira to start fast-unto-death opposite CM’s house for farmers

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress leader Inderjit Singh Zira . Zira has announced that he would lead a group of 11 protesters to begin a ‘fast-unto-death’, from Monday, opposite Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal’s residence, protesting the government’s failure to pay the state’s farmers for the paddy procured this season.

“More than ` 3,500 crore has not been paid to farmers. The Badals are busy organising kabaddi matches, while farmers fail to make ends meets,” he said.
