Muktsar : People’s party of Punjab president Manpreet Badal today told his party workers to be prepared for the possible mid-term Assembly elections in the state.

“Everyone knows about the bitter relations among the ruling parties. After the municipal elections, the rift among them is only going to widen,” he claimed.

Addressing party workers here, Manpreet said: “Our candidates will fight the municipal elections on the party symbol, kite. But the decision on seat sharing with the Congress will be taken at the local level.”

The party will hold camps in all districts to impart training to its workers about their duties and responsibilities in view of the upcoming local body poll.

Manpreet said: “We are publishing books to inform the party workers about their duties, party’s stand and main issues concerning the state. These will be distributed among the party’s office-bearers in a meeting on December 29 at Jagraon.”

He asked the workers to paste party’s stickers on their vehicles so that the party’s existence was felt.

Manpreet said: “We will hold a political conference on the Maghi Mela in January. If the administration does not give us permission for the designated venue, we will change it. The main issue is of funds as one bus costs Rs 12,000. If 300 buses are hired, it will cost Rs 36 lakh. The total expense will be Rs 40-50 lakh.”
