Tarn Taran : The BJP kickstarted its campaigning for the forthcoming elections to the local Municipal Council by organising a rally today.
State Minister for Medical Education Anil Joshi was the chief guest on the occasion and no representative from the party’s alliance partner, SAD, attended the rally. Joshi, while addressing the gathering, assured party workers of all kinds of assistance if they were harassed from any quarter during the forthcoming elections.
He said no one would be allowed to register “false” criminal cases against BJP workers.
Most of the local party leaders in their speech condemned the SAD’s local leadership for its alleged misrule at the local level.
The minister talked about the drug menace in the state and referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Man Ki Baat” address on this issue last week on All India Radio.
Joshi appreciated the performance of the Modi-led Union Government but uttered no word in favour of the state government.
