Sangrur : Former Sangrur MLA and Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) vice-president of Surinderpal Singh Sibia today demanded registration of a case against Akali MLA Virsa Singh Valtoha for his “I am a terrorist” remark in the Vidhan Sabha.

Sibia alleged that besides violating the Assembly decorum, Valtoha’s confession proved that militancy was a creation of the Akali Dal. He asked the state government to order an inquiry by an independent agency to check Valtoha’s background.

He also warned that the Congress would launch an agitation if the government failed to act against Valtoha. He said by presenting a no-confidence motion in the Assembly against the government on the issue of drugs, the Congress had fulfilled its moral responsibility.

Sibia claimed the BJP too stood exposed on the issue of drugs as it had supported the SAD on the no-confidence motion. “The BJP is power-hungry, which has been proved by its support against the Opposition move,” he said.
