Chandigarh : Partap Singh Bajwa, PPCC chief, today asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to drop Harsimrat Badal from the Union Cabinet in view of the “secessionist” statements by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal regarding protests against the BSF.

He called upon Congress workers to prepare for the Assembly poll which, he claimed, could take place any time. “This action of the Akalis has brought the Centre and the state government into direct conflict. The immediate solution to the problem would be dismissing the Punjab Government and dropping Harsimrat Badal from the Union Cabinet before Januray 5, 2014.”

Bajwa said the “seditious” call of the Deputy CM to the people of Punjab to gather at the international border for dharnas against the BSF was intended to incite violence. He maintained that it was in the interest of national security that the BJP broke the alliance and opted for a fresh mandate.
