Muktsar : The newly appointed Indian Youth Congress president Amarinder Singh ‘Raja’ Warring said that the IYC would soon launch ‘Save Punjab’ mass movement campaign against the drug menace in Punjab.

During his maiden visit his home district Mukatsar, Warring who also happens to be Gidderbaha MLA, was given rousing welcome by senior leaders of the party and people assembled from Dabwali, Lambi, Gidderbaha and Mukatsar as he conducted the road show in Muktsar.

Speaking to media, Warring said that Youth Congress would start awareness drive among the people of Punjab against drugs, even counsel them and if needed would help them in admission to de-addiction centers.

The ‘Save Punjab’ campaign would be taken to every corner of the state so that the people of Punjab are saved from the drug menace.

Warring cautioned the Central Government on the amendment of Land Acquisition bill in the parliament and said the Youth Congress would launch ‘Satyagrah’ from January 12 to 30 of this month across the country to make people aware of the anti-people and anti-farmer policies of the Modi government.

Attacking the SAD BJP government, Warring alleged the government had failed drastically to curb the menace of drugs in its eight-year rule and now they were blaming the central forces.

Warring also criticised the SAD-BJP government for not holding student elections in the colleges and universities of Punjab.
