Ludhiana : Former Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal has said that Capt Amarinder Singh should not make internal matters of the party public.

She said that whatever the differences between party members, these should be kept out of the public domain. She said this while talking to mediapersons here on Sunday.

On the issue of Sikh detainees, Bhattal said that while she was against terrorism, any prisoner who has completed his sentence should be released.

She was in the city to attend the Lohri Mela for girls organised by Malwa Sabhyacharak Manch at Dana Mandi.

Commenting on the luncheon meeting of Capt Amarinder Singh, she said it was an informal meeting of supporters. “Even I was invited to it, but I could not go there because of my commitment here,” she said.

“It was an informal meeting and should not be given political colour,” she said.

On the de-addiction campaigns by the government, she said that when Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi said that 70 per cent of the youth in the state were addicted to drugs, the Akalis said he was maligning the youth, but now, they themselves are carrying out campaigns for their de-addiction.

While addressing the audience, she later said that women had proven that they were no less than men in any sphere, she said.
