Chandigarh : Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will visit Punjab in March to address a state-level farmers’ conference against the ‘dilution’ of the Land Acquisition Act by the NDA government at the Centre.

Earlier, Captain had also met Congress president Sonia Gandhi to demand the removal of Bajwa.

It is learnt that during Rahul’s visit, the representatives of the farmers’ organisation from all over the country will be invited to kick-start the party’s initiative in Punjab against amendment to the land acquisition legislation. Other farmer issues like the Swaminathan committee recommendations, which the BJP had not yet implemented despite its pre-poll promise.
