Ludhiana : Former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal confirmed that she has received an invitation for the ‘Lalkaar rally’ from Captain Amarinder Singh, but she had not decided on participation in the rally yet.

Bhattal said that the rally was announced by Captain Amarinder Singh and the party high command has not given any directions to Congress leaders and workers for participation in the rally.

“I will decide to participate in the rally after the party high command will clarify its stand,” said senior Congress leader.

Bhattal was talking to the media after attending the death anniversary of Joginderpal Pandey, father of former minister and five-time MLA Rakesh Pandey.

It is pertinent to mention here that Deputy Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Captain Amarinder Singh had announced ‘Lalkaar rally’ to be held at Amritsar on January 24. Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee has not clarified its stand over participation in the rally. While hitting out at state government, Bhattal said that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal was busy in collecting funds from NRIs by organising Sangat Darshans in the state. On the issue of removal of priest of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Balwant Singh Nandgarh, Bhattal said that anyone who has spoken against Badal’s was sacked and Nandgarh has also met with the same fate.
