Mohali :Congress has faced many defeats in the past but has always come back strongly. The party is going through a bad time, but the workers are working hard and it will bounce back in 2017 Punjab assembly elections. This was stated by Indian Youth Congress (IYC) president Raja Amarinder Singh Warring at a function here on Friday.
Warring said that the though the party lost badly in Delhi elections but it is the history of the party that after big defeats it comes back strongly.
He said that AAP is going to face a major revolt in the coming six months in Delhi also because they will not be able to deliver what they had promised the people of Delhi.
Most of the departments working in Delhi are in the control of Union government, then how will they fulfill the poll promises of AAP? Lauding the performance of the UPA-I and UPA-II, Warring said that major development works were done by the Dr Manmohan Singh-led government in the Centre.
Warring also criticised the Modi government for taking u-turn on all the poll promises which they made with people of India. Be it Article 370, bringing black money back, China Pak talks, land acquisition bill, disbanding of FCI etc all are anti-people and anti-farmer decisions which are being taken by the Modi government at the Centre. He said that the Modi government has flopped in eight months of its regime.
Lambasting the ruling SAD-BJP combine in the state of Punjab, Warring said that they have been patronising the drug nexus for the last eight years which have now destroyed our generations. He asked the five-time Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to just elaborate and tell any one single step taken by their government to eradicate this menace.
Although it has been multiplying under police-politician nexus. He also asked the Chief Minister to tell what concrete policy on drugs they have to offer to the people of Punjab so that younger generations are saved from this menace. In the last eight years, unemployment has risen manifold, no new industry, lack of education and health sector by the government, no agriculture policy has been made.
Warring said that very soon he will tour the whole country to assess the pulse of the youth and then strengthen Youth Congress at block level. He said that Congress will form the government in Bihar and Punjab elections in the coming Vidhan Sabha elections.
