MUKTSAR: After two Congress candidates were booked on attempt to murder charges in Malout, leader of opposition Sunil Jakhar on Thursday visited the town and alleged that the ruling alliance was creating terror among Congress candidates and voters.
Jakhar addressed a public meeting in the wards of the Shubdeep Singh and Bakshish Singh, who were respectively contesting from ward number 23 and 24 in Malout on Congress tickets.
Shubdeep and Bakshish were booked after an alleged clash between Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal workers on Tuesday evening. Both the candidates have gone to an undisclosed place after cases were registered against them on Wednesday.
“The Congress party stands by its workers and workers cannot be bowed down by such terror acts of the ruling alliance,” he said.
